Assisted Living

Desert Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care is located in downtown Hobbs in a historic building built in the early 1960's. Its unique retro-look style is reminiscent of simpler times. When you walk inside, you feel at home, as you enter a warm and elegant living room, complete with a library where you may see welcoming faces playing cards, or reading a favorite book. Close by is a cozy TV room, where old and new movies are enjoyed.

The charming dining room opens onto an interior courtyard where elders and families may enjoy the New Mexico sun year-round. Meals are served restaurant style, and if you have a favorite dish, let us know and we may make it one of our menu choices!

A full-service beauty shop is conveniently located within the building. Men and women enjoy the pampering and friendship of our beautician.

Our full-time RN leads a competent team of Resident Assistants who have been specially trained to assist you with your needs with dressing, bathing, laundry, housekeeping, or medication assistance. Whether you need a little assistance, or a lot - we are committed to taking care of the people who took care of us!

Our dynamic Life Enrichment program features new adventures, exciting opportunities to learn, and wellness activities. Our programs help build meaningful friendships and improve self-esteem. Desert Gardens is where friendly faces and conversations are easy to come by; a place where independence, dignity, and privacy are respected; a place to call home!

Garden House

Our Memory Care Mission: In Garden House, located on the third floor of Desert Gardens, we believe the best thing we can give the family of a loved one with Alzheimer's disease or related memory disorders is peace of mind. We do that by providing amazing, compassionate service; and creating an environment where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day.

Our team is committed to providing care for the heart and spirit. It is the core of our promise to create joyful, fulfilling experiences for elders and an environment that allows many to remain at Garden House throughout their lives. Our staff, elders, and families are joined together through heartfelt emotions. Caring for and loving one another leads to a sense of well-being and understanding that reduces anxiety and enriches emotional life and memories.

Home-Like Environment: Our community provides a family atmosphere where elders can enjoy themselves in an intimate dementia friendly setting. Garden House employees care for elders with mid to late stage dementia and we offer a variety of life enrichment programs to help each person enjoy life and maintain a sense of well-being. Loved ones are invited to join us for meals, and to celebrate holidays and special events with us at any time. Our alarmed doors promote elder safety. We encourage families to visit often, and to decorate apartments with favorite and loved belongings to encourage a familiar setting.

Desert Gardens has created a world in Garden House where elders can succeed and achieve; where they are encouraged to function at their highest level, and where they may find a sense of belonging, companionship, and self esteem.
