Position: Full Time Cook

Position Summary:
We are currently looking for an experienced, self-motivated, enthusiastic and friendly cook in a health care environment. Flower Mound Assisted Living is a small assisted living community with a family type atmosphere where the residents enjoy a wide variety of food. Flexibility in preparing different types of foods is a plus. We specifically are looking for that person with a personal touch that can produce good restaurant-style cooking.

Reports to: Administrator

Responsibilities:
To create environments where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day.

1. Ability to prepare and serve a wide range of foods skillfully
2. Ability to work with little or no supervision
3. Ability to guide and instruct others in food prep and serving
4. Ability to maintain professional demeanor under stress
5. Ability to recognize needs and help others without prompting
6. Ability to relate well with other employees and residents of the community
7. Is neat, clean and works safely
8. Ability to read, write and speak English
9. Maintains acceptable attendance record
10. Is free of non-treated communicable disease
11. Has ability to spend long periods on feet
12. Abides by established policies and procedures of community
13. Respects residents rights and adheres to community philosophy of resident care
14. Organizes and utilizes time appropriately

Training and Experience:

Working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation. Demonstrates ability in a wide range of food preparation and skills. Experience in dealing with elderly and their dietary needs. Experience in a similar position with a long-term or related community.
